about me

Born and raised at the Belgian-German-Dutch border, I quickly developed a special interest in languages, and, at the age of just two-and-a-half, after returning from my first day at a French-speaking daycare, I had not only learned my very first French word but also that I never wanted to stop learning languages. Soon, I became intrigued by how our ability to speak and create words shape our world, our relationships, and our stories.

After completing a Drama degree and a joint Bachelor's degree in Romance Languages, Literature, and Linguistics and Asian Literature and Societies. Before that, I had already started writing my own stories and poems, some of which were published in the school paper.in 2015, my first screenplay, 'All Clouds Bring Not Rain' became a quarter-finalist at the 2015 Shore Script Competition. Two years later, before moving to Scotland for a Master's Degree in Creative Writing, I completed two documentary screenplays - THE SOUND OF COLOGNE and CAN AND ME. Both were released in 2023.

Also in 2023, the pilot for CLYDE - originally created as part of my MA portfolio - became a semi-finalist at the 2023 Screencraft Drama Screenplay Competition.

In addition, I have also worked as a junior curator for SoundTrack_Cologne, Europe's leading congress for music and sound in film, games and media, before working, among others, at the UK branch of Hachette Publishing as a Digital Marketing Specialist and as a freelance translator.

My work also include novels, poems, and short stories, usually dealing with narratives featuring the struggle of queer, disabled, and lower-class individuals - all topics that shaped my own life.

And for those who wonder what that first French word was: it was coccinelle - a ladybug.
